Maria Popova

This is Maria Popova, and I am so, so excited about her.

Maria is a native Bulgarian, who now lives in Brooklyn. She is a writer, editor and curator most famous for the Brain Pickings, a mind-blowing blog about literature, philosophy, art and design. Her literacy stuns me, so does her curiosity, productiveness and passion. Every day she writes several brilliant articles about exciting stuff and doesn’t get paid to do it despite being better at it than most of paid native-speaking bloggers and reporters are.

She listens to my favourite Philosophy Bites at the gym, surely more successfully than I do (I usually go brain-dead after the first 10 min. on a treadmill and switch to some silly music). It’s her job.
